1906 Grade C
The gun at the bottom is an example of a very early style "C" grade. It has 26-inch Krupp barrels, a half pistol grip, and a horn butt plate. The gun weighs 6 pounds 5 ounces. I've only seen one Fox 12-gauge that weighs less. The records don't exist for this gun serial number 1733. It was pictured in The Double Gun Journal, Volume Nine, Issue 1, pages 96 and 97. Note the wonderfully profiled triggers on these early guns.
"The FOX GUN" ( A.H. Fox "Wood Grain" Catalog A.H. Fox Gun Company, Philadelphia, Pa.)
This is the grade that has made good everywhere. In every respect it is a high grade.
It's beauty in looks and finish. No gun will stand up better to hard work. Its every detail is perfect. And at the price it is in a class absolutely by itself.
THE BARRELS are a high quality of Chromox Fluid Steel. They are guaranteed both for accurate shooting and great strength. THE STOCK is a choice selection of dark, curly Walnut. The grain is beautifully brought out in the hand rubbed oil finish. THE ENGRAVING is the work of an artist. It stands out clear and beautiful in design. THE CHECKERING is of fine diamond pattern on grip, panels and forend.
The regular "CE" Grade FOX is equipped with automatic ejector. We carry in stock with half or full pistol grip, but will be made to order at no extra charge with straight grip.

Early Style CE Grade Circa 1911-1912
The first gun pictured below is an example of early style "C" grade engraving. The early C grade is a non-ejector gun, the factory letter states the Gun was shipped Sept 24 1912 to E.K . Tryon Co. of Philadelphia, Pa. Its a 12 gauge 28" barrels choked full/full with 14 1/4", LOP 1 3/8" drop at comb 2 1/4" drop at heel and weight 7 lbs. It remains the same today but it may have had some restoration, possible barrel reblue and old stock refinish. The second gun pctured below is a CE shipped in 1911. It is a 12 gauge gun with 30" barrels weighting over 8lbs. It has high stock dimensions which would indicate it was made for trap shooting. It remains in minty condition today.
